Water Drops on Burning Rocks (Gouttes d'eau sur pierres brûlantes) is a 2000 French film directed by François Ozon. The film is based on a German play by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Tropfen auf heisse Steine.
Franz leaves his fiancée Anna to begin a relationship with a dominating older man, Léopold. Franz moves into Léopold's apartment. Months later, Anna comes to see Franz, alone, and they rekindle their relationship. Léopold arrives home with his ex-lover Véra to further complicate matters.
