Daniel John Pintauro (born January 6, 1976 in Milltown, New Jersey) is an American actor.


Pintauro first appeared on the television soap opera As the World Turns and in the movie Cujo. He first came to prominence on the television series Who's the Boss?.[1]

After the conclusion of that series, he was less frequently cast. In 1994, he took time off from professional acting and attended Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey, and later Stanford University to study English and theater. He graduated in 2001.

Pintauro has since returned to the stage in more mature roles including that of the title character in the stage version of The Velocity of Gary.

Personal lifeEdit

The National Enquirer tabloid contacted him in 1997 to inform him that they intended to out him as being gay. He granted an interview to the weekly, which was published in July 1997.[2] The first person he came out to was his Who's the Boss? costar Judith Light, who had played his mother.
